Continuing the same Victor Hospital in association with Dr. Elizabeth Vencotexa Dessai Trust, Rotary Club of Margao Midtown & JCI Fatorda Town initiated “Free Mega Health Camp” on Sunday, 24th April 2022 at Dr. Dhillon Desai’s Hospital, Canacona, Goa.

Canacona has a population strength around 45,000 people, predominantly living in rural areas. Residents of Canacona have to travel at least 60 km to access emergency health services, super specialty consultations and quality health care treatment.

Looking at the need of the super specialist consultant at Canacona, Victor Hospital through this camp offered free consultations by Dr. Rajesh Javherani (Diabetologist and Senior Consultant ICU & Critical Care), Dr. Amol Narkhede (Orthopaedic Surgeon), Dr. Pallavi Gujjanwar (Physiotherapist), Diabetic Educator, along with blood pressure and blood sugar check-up. Victor Hospital also offered complimentary medicines and good discounts on further investigations which were advised.

As per Rural Health Statistics Bulletin (RHS), a total of 2225 (8.89%) Primary Health Centres (PHCs) are functioning without doctor. Healthcare is the right of every individual but lack of medical functionaries and non- access to basic medicines and medical facilities makes it difficult for the rural population. Looking at the requirement of super specialist consultant in rural areas, Victor Hospital has taken an initiative by opening super specialty clinic in Canacona at Dr. Dhillon Desai’s Hospital, where people can avail consultation of Dr. Amol Narkhede (Orthopaedic Surgeon),  on every Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm, and the clinic will further be added with Dr. Rajesh Javherani (Senior Consultant ICU and Internal Medicine), Dr. Shanmukh Hiremath ( Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Surgeon)  and other specialties. Along with consultation, Victor Hospital will also start with blood sample collection at the Canacona Clinic.
