Dr. Jose Filipe Alvares completed his MD General Medicine from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM hospital, Mumbai and DM Gastroenterology and DNB Gastroenterology from TN Medical college and Nair hospital, Mumbai.
Following this, he has worked as lecturer and Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore and then at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal as Associate Professor and Acting head of Gastroenterology. He has been at Victor Hospital, Margao as consultant Gastroenterologist from February 2005 till date. He is a specialist in therapeutic endoscopy with special interest in GI cancer, diseases of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct.
