OVERVIEW
The Department of Gastroenterology has a full range of Colour Video Endoscopy equipment and is providing round-the-clock service to cater to emergencies in Gastro intestinal diseases like variceal bleed and hepatic coma. The department also does percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomies for patients with long terms swallowing problems such as malignant tumors of head & neck or other neurological problems. TIPSS (trans jugular intrahepatic port systemic shunts) for acute, severe esophageal bleeds not responding to conventional treatment. The department has started a committed Hepatology Unit with all facilities for dealing with fulminant Hepatic failure, Hepatic Encephalopathy and other related liver problems.

- Comprehensive workup in chronic liver diseases leading to liver transplant assessment
