What is a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapy, also referred to physical therapy, is treatment to restore, maintain, and make the most of a patient’s mobility, function, and well-being. Physiotherapy helps through physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness. Physiotherapists get you involved in your own recovery by setting a pre-defined track for the treatment. A physio may ask you to do certain exercises on your own in order to recover quickly.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication.

I don’t have a pain, can I still see the therapist?

At Beyond Wellness, our focus is on optimizing your overall health. We believe that flexibility, muscle strength, good postural alignment, balance & coordination are the core of injury prevention. Planning on starting a new sport or activity? Our physio will assist you to reach your goals.

How many treatments will I need?

Each injury/condition is different as are individuals’ goals for rehabilitation. During your assessment your physiotherapist will discuss the goals you hope to achieve with physiotherapy and the time frame in which he or she expects to be working with you to achieve those goals.
